The Final was played at Stevenage Town Bowls Club on Friday the 3rd August. It was a well contested match with Holwell BC coming out on top with 79 shots to Knebworth BC 71 shots. After five ends having been played on all rinks, Knebworth were 27-16 up on Holwell. Over the next five ends Holwell managed to claw back the 11 shots deficit and more to lead 44-38. This was a major turn around for Holwell which put them firmerly in the driving seat. Over the nexted five ends Knebworth were unable to get back on terms with Holwell as they went further ahead leading 73-51 after having played 15 ends on all rinks. With only three ends to play 23 shots were needed to be score without dropping a shot. This turned out to be a tall order for Knebworth. They did however manage to add 20 shots to give them a finishing total of 71, but Holwell Manage to add 6 shots more to their total to finish with 79 shots. Final score was Holwell BC 79-71 Knebworth BC. |
